Blueberry picking is very addictive. If you've ever had a
blueberry pie made with fresh blueberries than you know what
I mean. And if you know of a spot where they are abundant,
you keep it a secret.
Picking season
begins from mid-August to late September. Wild blueberries
are a very high source of vitamin C and contain antioxidents
vital to health and anti-aging. The best time to pick blueberries
is when they are plump and dark.
Other types of
berries such as Salmonberries, Huckleberries and Timbleberries
are mixed with Blueberries for jams, jellies and syrups. Frozen
berries can also be used for smoothies and later use for pies
during the winter months.
