This smokhouse in Klawock, Alaska is where families gathered with Alder logs and fresh salmon to smoke for the winter. This painting was inspired from a photograph while kayaking in Klawock Bay. The smokehouse can be seen from the road but the kayak gave me the closeness that I wanted to capture in the character of the building.
