This eye of the totem photo was taken in Kasaan, Alaska, home
of one of the largest totem parks on the Island. It's just
a short walk to the majestic Long House built by chief Sonahat
back in the 1930's. It was where the ceremonial potlatches
and Native dancing took place. Many of the totems that surround
the Long House were replicated in 1938 to uphold the traditions
of the Haida Nation.
