Killer whales are found in and around the bays of Southeast Alaska usually feeding on small fish and other marine mammals like sea lions and seals . They are the largest species of whales found. While they are not considered a threat to humans, there's many a commercial fisherman that has a whale of a story to tell.

On this particular day this photo was shot, we saw at least 100 of these mammoth beasts swimming with us as we skiffed around the bays. It was an awesome and not soon forgotten experience.
